Pioneer of Memory Sports in India | Multiple Guinness World Record Holder | President, Indian Memory Sports Council | Mentor
Squadron Leader Jayasimha Ravirala is a retired Indian Air Force officer, multiple Guinness World Record holder, memory expert, author, mentalist and one of the pioneers of the memory sports movement in India.
With a distinguished background in the Indian Air Force and extensive experience in training, leadership and education, Jayasimha has dedicated many years to developing memory skills and bringing the science and sport of memory to students, professionals and organisations.
He has achieved multiple Guinness World Records in memory and mental performance, including the record for 120 hours of non-stop speech and records involving memorisation of objects, colours, binary numbers and rapid identification of weekdays from dates. His achievements have made him a prominent figure in the field of memory and cognitive performance.
Beyond his individual achievements, his most enduring contribution has been his role in building and promoting competitive memory sports in India. Through the Indian Memory Sports Council and the Indian National Memory Championships, he has helped create opportunities for Indian memory athletes to train, compete and represent the country at international memory championships.
For many years, he has also worked to demonstrate that memory is not merely a natural ability but a trainable skill that can be developed through scientific techniques, disciplined practice and the right approach.
His vision has always extended beyond competitions—to take memory training and memory science to schools, colleges and students across India, helping young people develop concentration, confidence, recall, mental discipline and the ability to perform under pressure.
Today, Squadron Leader Jayasimha continues to guide and mentor the next generation of memory-sport enthusiasts and athletes. His experience, achievements and pioneering contribution provide an important foundation for the Indian Memory Sports Academy, as we work towards taking memory sports and memory science to a much wider audience across India.
From setting world records to building a movement, Squadron Leader Jayasimha’s journey continues to inspire a new generation to discover the extraordinary potential of the human mind.
Founder & Director, Indian Memory Sports Academy
Dr. P. Srinivas Kumar holds a PhD in Biotechnology and brings to memory sports a unique journey that combines science, education, perseverance and a deep passion for human potential.
Before entering the field of memory training, he was a dedicated civil services aspirant, pursuing the examination consistently for eight years. His journey through higher education and competitive examinations gave him a firsthand understanding of the challenges students face in learning, retaining and recalling vast amounts of information.
After completing his PhD and his civil services attempts, he was introduced to scientific memory techniques. He was fascinated by the effectiveness of these techniques and, through his own experience, came to strongly believe that such methods should be introduced to students at the school level itself, rather than being discovered much later in their academic journey. This realisation led him to make a career shift and become a full-time memory trainer.
His introduction to competitive memory sport further strengthened this vision. He was fascinated to see people across different age groups compete on the same platform, challenging their minds and demonstrating the extraordinary capabilities of the human brain. He began actively promoting memory sports and worked alongside Squadron Leader Jayasimha Ravirala in conducting and developing the Indian National Memory Championships.
Dr. P Srinivas Kumar represented India at the World Memory Championships in China and also had the opportunity to participate in China’s popular television programme Super Brain, alongside his student Anumitha. These experiences further strengthened his conviction that India has immense potential to produce world-class memory athletes when the right training and opportunities are made available.
He served as the Chief In-Charge of the 15th Indian National Memory Championship in 2024 and currently serves as Chief In-Charge of Championships at the Indian Memory Sports Council, working towards the development and promotion of competitive memory sport in India.
As his involvement in memory training and competitions grew, Dr. P Srinivas Kumar recognised the need for a dedicated platform that could take memory science and memory sport to the grassroots level. He envisioned an academy that would systematically introduce scientific memory techniques, train students and aspiring memory athletes, and create a strong pathway from learning and training to competitive participation.
This vision led to the establishment of the Indian Memory Sports Academy—with the Academy focusing on promoting memory science, providing structured training and nurturing memory athletes, while the Indian Memory Sports Council continues to conduct and oversee the national memory championships where trained students and athletes can compete and showcase their abilities.
His mission is to take memory science and memory sports to every school, nurture India’s next generation of memory champions, and help students discover that the power of memory is not merely a talent—it is a skill that can be scientifically trained, developed and transformed into a lifelong advantage.
Our trainers are certified, experienced and passionate about helping students discover the power of their memory and achieve excellence.
