How the Indian Memory Sports Academy collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this website or take part in our training programmes, workshops and championships.
This Privacy Policy explains how Indian Memory Sports Academy (IMSA), an initiative of Indian Memory Sports Foundation (“IMSA”, “we”, “us” or “our”), handles personal information. It applies to memorysportsindia.com (the “Website”) and to the information we collect when you contact us, enrol in a training programme, request a workshop, or register for or take part in a championship or event.
We handle personal information in line with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Please read this policy together with our Terms & Conditions and Disclaimer.
We collect only the information we need for the purposes described in this policy.
Information you give us
Information created when you take part
Information collected automatically
The Test Your Memory challenge on our home page runs entirely in your browser. Your answers and score are not sent to us or stored by us.
We process personal information with your consent, or where it is otherwise permitted by law — for example, when you voluntarily give us your details so that we can respond to you, or when we must comply with a legal obligation.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see Section 13). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, but it may mean we can no longer provide a particular service — for example, we cannot register a participant for a championship without the details needed to do so.
Many of our participants are children. Under Indian law, a person under 18 years of age is a child.
Children should not submit forms on the Website without the involvement of a parent or guardian. If we learn that we have collected a child’s information without that consent, we will delete it.
Memory Sport is a competitive and public activity. When you take part in a championship or event:
If you do not want a participant to be featured in photographs or videos, please tell the organisers at registration or before the event. You may also ask us to remove a photograph or video in which you or your child appears from the Website or our social media accounts, and we will do so within a reasonable time. Published results cannot usually be removed, as they form part of the official competition record.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as follows:
The Website links to our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and X) and to other websites. Our Contact page shows an embedded Google Map, which loads content from Google and may allow Google to collect information such as your IP address. These third parties have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
Cookies are small files stored on your device. The Website uses only cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work, stay secure, load quickly and process forms. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. Third-party services, such as the embedded Google Map, may set their own cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the Website may not work properly if you do. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy.
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. As a guide:
We take reasonable security measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include a secure (HTTPS) connection, restricted access to our website administration and records, and working with reputable service providers. However, no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a personal data breach occurs, we will take steps to contain it and will notify affected persons and the authorities where required by law.
Some of our service providers may store or process information on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the information remains protected, and such transfers are made in accordance with Indian law.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Grievance Officer (Section 13). We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
