From Opportunity To Participation

How ViralPe supported five Government school students on their journey to the national memory championship

An opportunity becomes meaningful when a student can actually take part.

When five students from Zilla Parishad High School, Hydernagar were selected for the 15th Indian National Open Memory Championship 2024, they had already accomplished something significant.

They had been introduced to Memory Science, undergone training, progressed through the selection process and earned their place at a national championship.

But there was one more step.

They needed the support to participate.

That is where ViralPe Sales and Services Private Limited stepped forward.

Supporting Five Students

As part of the grassroots initiative led by Dr. P. Srinivas Kumar, Chief-in-Charge of Championships of the Indian Memory Sports Council, approximately 200 students at ZPHS Hydernagar were introduced to Memory Science and Memory Sport.

Around 40 students progressed to the preliminary selection stage.

Five students were ultimately selected for the national championship:

  • Madeena Mahek
  • R. Lasya
  • N. Anusha
  • N. Mallikarjun
  • Baivabi

The next challenge was making sure their selection could translate into actual participation.

ViralPe Sales and Services Private Limited came forward and sponsored the championship participation fees for all five students.

Why This Support Was Important

For students experiencing a national championship for the first time, financial support can remove an important barrier between being selected and actually participating.

The sponsorship meant that the five students could move forward with their championship journey and represent their school on a national platform.

For them, it was an opportunity to experience:

  • National-level competition
  • A new field of competitive sport
  • Interaction with participants from different backgrounds
  • The experience of representing their school
  • An opportunity to test the memory skills they had developed

Supporting Grassroots Talent

The ZPHS Hydernagar initiative was designed to take Memory Sport to students who may not otherwise have encountered it.

The students first received exposure to Memory Science.

They then received training.

They went through selections.

Five students were selected.

And sponsorship helped complete the final step:

Participation in the national championship.

This is where sponsorship can play an important role in grassroots development.

It can help ensure that an opportunity does not end with selection.

More Than A Championship Fee

The sponsorship provided by ViralPe was more than simply financial assistance towards a participation fee.

For a student, being able to say that they represented their Government school at a national championship can become a meaningful personal experience.

It can build confidence.

It can provide exposure.

It can encourage the student to continue learning.

And it can inspire other students in the school to explore the same opportunity.

When one group of students gets an opportunity, the impact can extend to the wider school community.

A Beginning For More Schools

The experience at ZPHS Hydernagar demonstrated the potential of taking Memory Sport directly into schools and giving students opportunities to learn and compete.

But to take such initiatives to more schools and communities, continued support from organisations and sponsors can make a significant difference.

Sponsorship can potentially support:

  • Championship participation fees
  • Memory training programmes
  • School outreach programmes
  • Learning resources
  • Equipment
  • Grassroots talent identification
  • Participation of students who may face financial barriers

Every supported participant can become another person introduced to Memory Sport.

ViralPe's Contribution

The support of ViralPe Sales and Services Private Limited helped make it possible for all five selected students from ZPHS Hydernagar to participate in the 15th Indian National Open Memory Championship 2024.

Their support became part of a journey that began with a classroom of approximately 200 students and eventually reached a national championship stage.

From a classroom of 200 students to five national championship participants — sponsorship helped make the final step possible.

Creating More Opportunities

Indian Memory Sports Academy believes that talent can be found across every section of society.

The goal is to create opportunities for more students to discover Memory Science, develop their abilities and experience Memory Sport.

Organisations and businesses that support such initiatives can become an important part of that journey.

ViralPe Sales and Services Private Limited supported five students from ZPHS Hydernagar.

Their contribution helped turn an opportunity into participation.

And this is exactly the kind of impact that grassroots sponsorship can create.

Support an opportunity. Enable participation. Help take Memory Sport to the grassroots.
