Please read these instructions carefully. They apply to all participants and guests. They are part of the Championship Terms & Conditions you accepted when you registered.
A. Before The Championship
- After your payment is received, you will get a confirmation email. Your seat is then confirmed.
- The detailed schedule of the 10 disciplines, the reporting time, the scoring rules for each discipline and other practical details will be sent to you before the championship.
- Practise under timed conditions. Read the rules of each discipline before the day.
- For Random Numbers, Speed Numbers and Binary Numbers you will receive a tracing sheet: a transparent sheet with pre-drawn lines that you place over the memorisation sheet. Its lines will be drawn after the number of digits you chose in the registration form.
B. Reporting And Check-In
- Report at the venue at the time given in the schedule. Late arrivals may not be allowed to start a discipline already in progress.
- At check-in, show the original of the age-proof document you uploaded.
- At check-in you will receive your participant ID badge, your participant kit (ID badge, tracing sheets and stationery) and your event T-shirt.
- Attend the briefing before the first discipline. Important instructions are given there.
C. What To Bring
- The original of your age-proof document.
- Your own pens and pencils, an eraser and a sharpener (stationery is also provided in the kit).
- A water bottle (plain, without labels or writing).
- Ear plugs or ear defenders, if you use them (without any electronic function).
- A watch is not needed: the time is announced and shown by the officials.
D. Not Allowed In The Competition Hall
- Mobile phones, smart watches, fitness bands, earphones, calculators or any electronic device. Switch them off and hand them in, or leave them with your guest, before entering.
- Notes, books, papers or any written material, except what the officials give you.
- Talking, signalling or communicating with any other person during a discipline.
- Leaving your seat during a discipline without an official’s permission.
- Guests, parents and trainers are not allowed inside the competition hall during the disciplines. Details of where they can wait will be shared with the schedule.
E. During Each Discipline
- Every discipline has two stages: memorisation (you memorise the material in the given time) and recall (you write down what you remember on the recall sheet).
- Do not start or turn pages until the official says “Start”. Stop writing immediately when the official says “Stop”.
- Write your name and participant ID on every recall sheet.
- Write clearly. Answers that cannot be read may not be scored.
- Raise your hand if you need an official. Do not leave your seat.
- The chief arbiter’s decision on any question during a discipline is final.
F. Results, Awards And The Closing Ceremony
- Scores are checked and calculated after each discipline. When a discipline’s results are shown, the time allowed for score queries will be announced with them.
- Medals, trophies and certificates are presented at the Awards & Closing Ceremony.
- Guests are welcome at the Awards & Closing Ceremony with the guest passes you requested in the registration form. Please bring only the number of guests you registered.
G. Participants Under 18
- Kids category (born 2014 or after): a parent or guardian must stay at the venue throughout the championship.
- Juniors category (born 2009–2013): a parent or guardian may drop the participant off at check-in, must be reachable by phone during the day, and must collect the participant at the end.
H. Food And Breaks
- Lunch and refreshments are provided for participants. Break times will be shown in the schedule.
- Guests can buy lunch at the venue. Details will be shared with the schedule.
I. Conduct
- Respect other participants, officials, volunteers and the venue. Keep the venue clean.
- Cheating or misconduct may lead to disqualification without a refund.
