From supporting Government school students to supporting the championship itself — ViralPe Sales and Services Private Limited steps forward to strengthen Memory Sport in India
The 15th Indian National Open Memory Championship 2024 was not just growing in participation. It was also beginning to attract organisations that believed in the larger vision behind Memory Sport.
One such organisation was ViralPe Sales and Services Private Limited.
After supporting students from a Government school to participate in the championship, ViralPe took another significant step forward — joining the championship as the Title Sponsor.
The association was formally announced during a press meet held at the Press Club in Secunderabad, where representatives of ViralPe joined the championship team and shared their support for the initiative.
From Supporting Students To Supporting The Championship
ViralPe's association with the championship had already begun at the grassroots level.
The company had earlier supported five students from ZPHS Hydernagar, enabling them to participate in the 15th Indian National Open Memory Championship.
That initial association grew into something much larger.
Recognising the potential of Memory Training and the importance of making such techniques accessible to more students, ViralPe Sales and Services Private Limited came forward as the Title Sponsor of the championship.
For IMSA, this was more than financial support. It represented an important example of how organisations can contribute to creating opportunities for young learners and the development of Memory Sport.
A Championship Bringing India Together
The press meet also highlighted the scale and diversity of the 15th Indian National Open Memory Championship.
The championship was bringing together 180 participants from 3 countries, 14 states, 60 towns and cities, and 74 schools.
The participation also extended across age groups, with more than 10 participants above the age of 60.
This was an important reflection of what Memory Sport can represent — a competitive platform where age does not have to be a barrier to participation.
Taking Memory Training To Government Schools
One of the significant initiatives associated with the championship was the effort to take Memory Sport beyond conventional training environments.
Students from ZPHS Hydernagar, a Government school, had undergone training and selection, with five students eventually earning the opportunity to participate in the national championship.
Similarly, five students from ASWA Foundation's Children Learning Centre were selected to participate.
These initiatives demonstrated a central idea behind the work of IMSA: talent and the ability to learn should not be limited by the type of school a student attends or their background.
The opportunity to learn memory techniques and experience competitive Memory Sport can be valuable when it reaches students who may otherwise never encounter such a platform.
Why ViralPe Chose To Support Memory Sport
During the press meet, ViralPe Sales and Services Private Limited Chairman Mr. P. R. Srinivasan spoke about the connection he saw between the company's own vision and the purpose of Memory Training.
ViralPe was working towards making the challenging process of sales easier for businesses. In a similar way, he highlighted how memory techniques can make it easier for students to remember what they study and learn.
The idea of taking these techniques to students resonated with the ViralPe team and became an important reason for supporting the championship.
He also expressed the hope that more sponsors would come forward so that these opportunities could reach many more students.
Sponsorship Can Create Opportunities
Organising a national championship of this scale requires considerably more than bringing participants together.
Venues, competition materials, equipment, logistics, participant facilities, awards and other resources all require financial support.
That is why sponsorship plays an important role in the growth of Memory Sport.
The support provided by ViralPe demonstrated one way in which a corporate organisation can contribute — not only by supporting the event, but also by helping individual students gain access to an opportunity they may otherwise have missed.
Building A Path To The World Stage
The press meet also highlighted a larger challenge facing Indian Memory Athletes.
India has many talented individuals with the potential to compete at international Memory Championships. However, participation in international competitions can involve significant travel and other expenses, which can become a barrier for talented athletes.
With greater support from sponsors, organisations and institutions, more Indian memory athletes could potentially receive opportunities to participate at international events and represent the country on the world stage.
The national championship therefore served not only as a competition, but also as part of a larger effort to identify, train and support Indian Memory Athletes.
A Partnership With A Larger Purpose
ViralPe's journey with the championship had an important progression:
Supporting students → Supporting participation → Supporting the championship → Supporting the larger vision.
What began with helping five Government school students reach the national stage grew into ViralPe becoming the Title Sponsor of the 15th Indian National Open Memory Championship 2024.
For IMSA, this partnership represented the kind of collaboration that can help Memory Sport reach more schools, more students and more communities.
And perhaps most importantly, it showed what can happen when businesses, educators, trainers and the Memory Sport community come together around an opportunity for the next generation.
One Championship. 180 Participants. A Growing Movement.
The 15th Indian National Open Memory Championship was becoming a platform not only for competition, but for learning, opportunity, inclusion and collaboration.
With ViralPe Sales and Services Private Limited joining as the Title Sponsor, the championship took another meaningful step towards building a stronger ecosystem for Memory Sport in India.
The journey had begun — and there was a much bigger vision ahead.
